ACEH TAMIANG — A conflict between SMPN 2 Kejuruan Muda and the parents of Tiara, a seventh-grade student in class 7.8, concerning a photograph allegedly containing inappropriate or indecent content has finally reached a peaceful resolution. Through assistance, dialogue, and a process focused on the best interests of the child, the dispute was resolved amicably, while a solution was also found to ensure the continuation of Tiara’s education.
The process began on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, when Tiara’s parent, Parmi, accompanied by her daughter Tiara and Tiara’s homeroom teacher, Nuning Hermiana, S.Pd., visited the Secretariat of DPC Badan Advokasi Indonesia (BAI) Aceh Tamiang in Karang Baru to report the matter and seek assistance.
DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang subsequently provided advocacy and assistance, emphasizing a persuasive approach, child protection, and Tiara’s right to receive a proper and continuous education.
On Thursday, July 23, 2026, the DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang investigation team visited SMPN 2 Kejuruan Muda to assist in finding a solution. The team was represented by Juliardi, Muhammad Zulzain, Satria Maimun Syah, and Muhammad Irwan.

The team held discussions with Tiara’s homeroom teacher, Nuning Hermiana, S.Pd., as well as with the school administration and the parents. The discussions were aimed at finding the best solution without allowing the conflict to escalate further.
DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang also communicated directly with the Acting Principal of SMPN 2 Kejuruan Muda, Suprianto, S.Pd., accompanied by the school’s counseling teacher (BK), to seek a solution that could be accepted by all parties.
The process ultimately resulted in a peaceful settlement. More importantly, Tiara’s educational future remained a priority. Tiara has obtained a solution to continue her education and has been accepted at another junior high school.
DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang considers the resolution a positive step, emphasizing that matters involving students must be handled carefully, proportionately, and without sacrificing the child’s future.
“The most important thing is that the matter can be resolved calmly, without mutual blame, while ensuring that the child continues to have the right to learn and pursue her education.”
DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang also expressed appreciation for all parties who ultimately chose dialogue, deliberation, and reconciliation. The resolution demonstrates that problems within an educational environment can be addressed through communication, assistance, and a shared commitment to finding solutions.
The case also serves as an important reminder that whenever problems involve children and schools, all parties should prioritize the best interests of the child, the protection of students’ dignity, and the continuity of their education.
With the matter now peacefully resolved and a new school secured for Tiara, it is hoped that all parties can return to their respective activities in a calm and constructive manner. Tiara is expected to begin her education in her new school in September 2026, with renewed enthusiasm and hope for a brighter future.
DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang emphasizes that advocacy is not merely about determining who is right or wrong. Rather, it is about providing solutions when members of the community face difficult situations.
When a dispute ends in peace and a child’s future remains protected, that is where advocacy truly gains its humanitarian value.
