DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang Holds Dialogue with DPMKPPKB to Strengthen Village-Level Legal Aid Posts
ACEH TAMIANG — Efforts to bring legal assistance and access to justice closer to the community continue to gain momentum. The Aceh Tamiang Branch of the Indonesian Advocacy Agency (DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang), led by Chairman Syamsul, accompanied by Saut Isak Parulian Simanjuntak, Muhammad Zulzain, S.E., and Juliardi, held a coordination meeting and silaturahmi with Acting Head of the Aceh Tamiang Office of Community and Village Empowerment, Population Control and Family Planning (DPMKPPKB), Drs. Tri Kurnia, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The meeting, held at the office of the Acting Head of DPMKPPKB, focused on strengthening the role and presence of Legal Aid Posts (Pos Bantuan Hukum/Posbankum) at the village level.

The meeting marked a strategic step by DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang to ensure that people, particularly those living in villages, are no longer separated from access to legal information, consultation, and assistance.
For DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang, the law should not only appear after a dispute has escalated into a formal case.
“The law must be present from the very beginning—in the midst of the community, in villages, and as a place where citizens can gain understanding before a problem develops into a larger conflict,” said Syamsul.
Building Stronger Cooperation for Community Justice
The discussion emphasized the importance of strengthening synergy between the local government, village administrations, and institutions committed to expanding public access to justice.
Acting Head of DPMKPPKB Aceh Tamiang Drs. Tri Kurnia emphasized the strategic role of Posbankum in providing accessible legal services to the community.
“The existence of Posbankum is expected to become the frontline of community legal services, particularly in providing legal information, initial consultations, assisting with non-litigation dispute resolution, and directing people who require further assistance in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations,” said Tri Kurnia.
Law Must Be Present in the Heart of the Community
DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang views the strengthening of Posbankum as more than simply establishing an administrative service. It is part of a broader effort to build legal awareness and a culture of justice within the community.
Through Posbankum, residents are expected to have an easily accessible place to seek information and discuss legal issues, including family matters, land disputes, administrative issues, social affairs, and other legal concerns.
“People must not feel alone when facing legal problems. Posbankum should become the first door for citizens to obtain legal information and understand their rights and responsibilities.”
DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang also expressed its readiness to strengthen communication and cooperation with the local government and village administrations, particularly in developing the capacity of paralegals and establishing a Posbankum service mechanism that is orderly, transparent, accountable, and oriented toward the interests of the community.
From the Village, Building Legal Awareness
The strengthening of Posbankum is expected to go beyond a program or a formal cooperation document. More importantly, it must become a real bridge between ordinary citizens and access to justice.
Amid growing social challenges, legal services at the village level are becoming increasingly important. Communities need a place where they can ask questions, receive proper legal explanations, and seek solutions before disputes develop into prolonged conflicts.
The silaturahmi between DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang and the Acting Head of DPMKPPKB Aceh Tamiang became an important momentum to build a shared commitment that justice must not be accessible only to those who understand the law or have the financial means to seek legal assistance.
From the village, legal awareness is built.
From the community, justice is defended.
And through strong cooperation between the government and legal advocacy institutions, Posbankum is expected to become one of the gateways toward legal services that are closer, faster, fairer, and more accessible to the people of Aceh Tamiang.
