ACEH TAMIANG — Efforts to strengthen public access to justice continue to be promoted by the Aceh Tamiang Branch of the Indonesian Advocacy Agency (DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang). On Monday (August 24, 2026), the DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang delegation paid a courtesy visit and held discussions with the Legal Affairs Division of the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government. The delegation was received directly by Head of the Legal Affairs Division, Yusroji, S.H., M.H., accompanied by Junior Legal Analyst Ramza Gunawan, S.H., M.H.

DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang Chairman Syamsul, accompanied by Secretary Saut Isak Parulian Simanjuntak, Treasurer Muhammad Zulzain, S.E., and Head of Investigation Juliardi, discussed the strengthening of Legal Aid Posts (Posbankum) and the capacity of paralegals so they can provide legal education, receive public complaints, conduct preliminary identification of legal issues, and assist with non-litigation dispute resolution within their authority and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Head of the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government Legal Affairs Division, Yusroji, S.H., M.H., emphasized that strengthening Posbankum requires strong cooperation and a shared understanding among the government, the community, and legal aid service providers.
“The most important thing is ensuring that Posbankum truly provides benefits to the community. Paralegals must understand their duties, functions, ethics, and limitations of authority so that legal services are delivered professionally and in accordance with applicable regulations,” said Yusroji.
DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang Chairman Syamsul stated that Posbankum plays an important role in bringing legal access closer to the community, particularly at the village level.
“We want the law to be present as close as possible to the community. Posbankum is not merely a place to receive complaints, but also a space for legal education and the early resolution of various community problems in an appropriate and responsible manner,” Syamsul said.
DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang considers Posbankum at the community level to be highly strategic. Many legal problems arising in villages can actually be addressed at an early stage through communication, mediation, legal education, and appropriate assistance before they develop into larger conflicts.
Meanwhile, Secretary of DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang, Saut Isak Parulian Simanjuntak, stressed the importance of continuously improving paralegal competencies through training and coordination.
“Paralegals are one of the front lines in providing legal education and initial access to legal assistance. Therefore, strengthening their competence through training, ethical understanding, case administration, communication skills, and proper case-referral mechanisms is very important,” Saut said.
Amid the complexity of community issues, ranging from family disputes, land matters, education, employment, village administration, to various social problems, Posbankum is expected to serve as a safe and accessible platform where people can seek accurate legal information and appropriate solutions.
The meeting is expected to become an initial step toward strengthening coordination between DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang and the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government Legal Affairs Division in developing legal services that are accessible to the community.
The meeting concluded with a group photograph and the presentation of a Posbankum book by DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang Chairman Syamsul to Head of the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government Legal Affairs Division Yusroji, S.H., M.H.
For DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang, access to justice is not a privilege, but a fundamental right of the community that must be made real, accessible, and delivered responsibly.
