DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang and RAPI Build Collaboration to Support Regional Development
ACEH TAMIANG — The development of a region requires not only the role of the government but also the active involvement of community organizations that are committed to serving the public interest. This spirit of collaboration was reflected in a meeting between the Aceh Tamiang Branch of Badan Advokasi Indonesia (DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang), led by Syamsul, and the Radio Antar Penduduk Indonesia (RAPI), led by Syaiful Syahputra, widely known as Datok Keng, who also serves as the Datok Penghulu (Village Traditional Leader) of Sungai Iyu Village.
The meeting was held at a café in Karang Baru, Aceh Tamiang, on September 28, 2026. It served as a forum for friendship, communication, and the exchange of ideas regarding the importance of strengthening cooperation among community organizations to support the development of Aceh Tamiang.
Chairman of DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang, Syamsul, said that community organizations have a social responsibility to contribute to addressing issues affecting society.

According to him, BAI has a role in providing legal education and assistance to the community, while organizations such as RAPI have strengths in communication and community networks.
“The progress of Aceh Tamiang requires collaboration. It cannot be achieved by one party alone. Community organizations must build communication, support one another, and provide tangible benefits to society,” Syamsul said.
Meanwhile, Syaiful Syahputra, also known as Datok Keng, emphasized that communication is an important element in building a community that is responsive to various social issues.
As a member of RAPI and the Datok Penghulu of Sungai Iyu Village, he said that maintaining good relations among institutions and community organizations could create broader opportunities for cooperation, particularly in social affairs, public information, and activities that directly serve the community.
“We each have different roles and areas of responsibility. However, our broader goal is the same: to ensure that the presence of our organizations benefits the community and contributes to the progress of Aceh Tamiang,” Syaiful said.
Collaboration Beyond a Meeting
The meeting also represented an effort to strengthen a culture of communication, coordination, and collaboration within the community.
Cooperation among organizations is considered important because each institution possesses different strengths and resources that can complement one another.
BAI can contribute through legal education and community assistance in accordance with applicable regulations, while RAPI has experience in developing community communication networks, including supporting the dissemination of information in various circumstances.
With these complementary roles, cooperation can be directed toward educational, social, humanitarian, public communication, and legal-awareness activities.
At the same time, any collaboration should continue to uphold applicable regulations, professionalism, transparency, and respect for the duties and authorities of each organization.
Building Aceh Tamiang Through Community Participation
Regional development is not measured solely by physical infrastructure. It also involves the quality of communication, social awareness, legal literacy, and the community’s ability to work together in addressing various challenges.
Therefore, the meeting between DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang and RAPI in Karang Baru is expected to become a starting point for broader and constructive communication.
The message emerging from the meeting is simple but significant: Aceh Tamiang needs more spaces for collaboration, not merely more organizations.
When community organizations are able to build healthy communication, share responsibilities, and prioritize public interests, their existence can become more than an organizational structure—it can serve as part of the social strength supporting the continued development of Aceh Tamiang.
